The developments this week indicate the Palestinian Authority is wanting to be granted statehood by the UN.  To me this process has been heading this way for a long time but really picked up steam last year when Israel stormed the flotilla that was headed to Gaza that had its origin in Turkey.  Fast forward to today and Turkey has all but broken diplomatic relations with Israel, Egypt and Jordan who have peace treaties with Israel and say they are still committed to the treaty but their public statements are tepid at best.  Turkey is on the front line leading these Arab nations into what I believe will be an eventual confrontation.

Turkey is considering sending naval warships to escort the next flotilla that is headed to Gaza in what would no doubt be a confrontation with the Israeli Navy.  The pace of this future confrontation is picking up steam and I believe will occur in the not to distant future.  If Egypt and Jordan decide the peace treaty is no longer in their best interest then Israel is once again surrounded on all sides by hostile countries.  For whatever reason Turkey is taking the lead on this and the only conclusion I can draw as they want Israel out-of-the-way because in their minds this will solve the Palestinian dilemma and the crisis and turmoil that always surround Israel and the Palestinians.

Maybe the Palestinians should have a state and a compromise worked out, but appears to me the elimination of the Jewish state is on the agenda which is in line with what Ahmadinejad of Iran wants.  And to those of you who the United States will stand by Israel at all costs, think again. As rapidly as the world changes and especially in the Middle East don’t be surprised in the United States tells Israel they are on their own.

President Obama made his speech last week that as a basis for negotiations for middle east peace that Israel should consider returning to its borders prior to the 1967 war.  From my research this appears to be a first for an American President and the first salvo in what I believe is the beginning of the end of unconditional support for Israel by the United States.  Israel has long said that if they return to these borders their country will be indefensible and this is why they need to hold onto the territory they have.  Also, this land was won in a war started by the Arab nations and they lost so why should this land be given back?

Israel has stated they have no intention of returning to the pre 1967 borders, but I believe they will receive pressure from the United States, EU, and UN to do so because the world is tired of the conflict and want it to be settled. Since the formation of the State of Israel they have been attacked by Arab armies many times and the Arabs defeated every time so what the Arabs could not achieve on the battlefield they will try to get at the negotiating table and looks like they might succeed. Now, with President Obama getting the pre 1967 borders out in the open it won’t be long before the EU and UN fall in line.

To me this is a very disturbing statement by President Obama but I believe it fits into the bigger picture of what is going on in the middle east.  The whole status quo has been changed with the “Arab Spring” that is taking place with autocratic governments being overthrown or others about to be. What a perfect time for the pre 1967 border speech and with the complete turnover of the middle east taking place what a perefect time to finally get this conflict settled once and for all.  But, I do not think it will happen this way because I still think the Arabs do not want the State of Israel to exist.  I think these government bodies I have mentioned will press Israel to accept the pre 1967 border to obtain peace and Israel will reject this.  In turn, as they have done in the past the Arabs will attack with whatever allies they can find.  The EU and United States will blame Israel and not come to their aid, leaving them alone to defend themselves against these invaders.

This is not hard to figure out, you only have to watch and pay attention so I believe the speech President Obama has just made will lead to a chain of events that will allow the enemies of this country and Israel to have the green light for the final push to eliminate Israel.

Periodically, I will make posts about this subject when I feel like there is new information that has been made available and this is one of those situations.  It is a well-known fact that Iranian President Ahmadinejad believes in the return of the “12 imam” who is a messianic figure in the islamic faith.  What makes this believe disturbing is that Ahmadinejad believes he must set in motion the events that will hasten the mahdi’s return which includes a destructive a cataclysmic world war.  Recently, I found an article that talks about at top advisor to Ahmadinejad has produced a movie about this very scenario and how Ahmadinejad has laid out his scenario how the “end times” will occur.

There is no need for me to go into great detail about the article as I have posted a link so it can be read and interpreted by the reader as to its content.  But make no mistake about this, Ahmadinejad believes this and we all should take very seriously what he is saying.  Don’t be fooled by the media because they are not reporting this in great detail because we are told Ahmadinejad is some kind of nut!! We were told in the 90’s that bin laden was some kind of nut and looked what happened!  These people are telegraphing exactly what they intend to do and will do everything in their power to bring it about.  Some how I believe the western nations believe Ahmadinejad is a nut case and are trying to stop him and here is why:

1)American forces are in Iraq and Afghanistan, the two countries that border Iran on the east and west.

2)Missile defense shield proposed for Europe so Iranian medium range nuclear missiles can be intercepted.

3)Israel has been provided with top of the line technology for missile defense.

Throughout history these same situations have arisen with some “crazed” leader bent on world domination but this time the stakes are higher because Ahmadinejad is after nuclear weapons and if he gets them then he may well attempt to manipulate events to hasten the return of the Mahdi as he believes.  Just remember, if this were a western leader talking about the return of Jesus and trying to manipulate events to get this to happen.  It would be in the news everyday about what a lunatic this leader was and every protestor from the US to Germany would be in the streets talking about how tolerant we need to be and not force religion down our throats.  What a joke all of this is in the name of tolerance!!

In the last week and Israeli General was quote as saying that ” if Hezbollah gains control of the Lebanese government and Hezbollah initiates any hostilities then all of Lebanon will be a target, not just Hezbollah positions”.  This seems quite reasonable to me considering the fact that Hezbollah is in fact taking over the Lebanese government with the help of Syria and Iran.  As you look at the General’s statement he is sending a signal to Lebanon that letting Hezbollah run the country is a very bad idea and especially if Hezbollah is allowed to attack Israel from Lebanon.

Hezbollah’s gradual control over Lebanon has been taking place over many years especially with their possible involvement in the assassination of the popular Lebanese prime minister at the time Rafik Harari in 2005.  To further confirm these facts a United Nations Tribunal is on the verge of handing down indictments to top Hezbollah operatives involved in the assassination.  Apparently, Mr. Harari had to be taken out because he was taking Lebanon in a different direction than what Syria or Iran wanted.

Now it has been reported that France will sell Lebanon 100 anti-tank missiles which are obviously to be used against Israeli Tanks in the next war.  It is puzzling why France would do this as this will just reinforce the Israeli position of attacking all of Lebanon in the next war.  It should be obvious to any observer that Iran needs to control Lebanon so as to have a staging area for attacks on Israel from the north and control of Gaza so as to be able to harass Israel from the south.  There is one player in this picture that keeps this pot at the boiling point and that is Iran.  If Iran is no longer in the picture then most of the above problems are solved.

That is why I support any kind of destabilization efforts that are going on against Iran at this time because their ultimate goal is to take down Israel and all this would do is engulf the world  in a war that is not needed and unnecessary.

I just wanted to post a quick note and link below to an article that talks about Iran’s real goal is to try to takeover the Persian Gulf.  As we all know this is the lifeline to the west for the oil that is needed to run their economies.  Even if Iran did not succeed the disruption of the oil could collapse the economies of the west. The article states the saber ratling with Israel is just a diversion to take over the Gulf.  Interesting read so I wanted to add a link to share with others so let me know if it was worth the read. I also added a link on my page as well.

Dr. Kedar Warns: Iran May Take Over Persian Gulf

A recent article at debka.com indicates that US and Israeli forces are concentrated on army and air bases in Azerbaijan ready to strike the Iranian Nuclear Facilities with Iran declaring a state of war on its northwestern border with Azerbaijan. The report also says that Iranian sources have reported that Israel has transferred bomber jets to air bases in Azerbaijan.

While none of us no what is really going on I believe the western powers are not standing by just waiting for Iran to get a nuclear weapon without some preparation to stop  them.  I remember during the election President Obama saying that he would not allow Iran to get nuclear weapons and maybe he means it. I hope this report is true because these “tyrant countries” need to be stopped sooner rather than later.  It has always made sense to me why the US invaded Iraq as I believe it was to get close to Iran as they were always the target.  Instead of trying to put pressure on Iran from a far away place now it can be done right next to them in Iraq.

What we hear in public versus what goes on behind the scenes is very different.  I for one hope things like the above are going in order to spare the world of a catastrophe because Ahmadinejad and Iran have a nuclear weapon.

There is a report in the London Times that Saudi Arabia will allow Israel to fly through its airspace to attack the Iranian nuclear facilities.  The report says the Saudis have done tests to make sure their jets do not intercept and shoot down the Israeli planes and will look the other way if Israel does fly over their airspace with all this being done in agreement with the U.S. State Department. Then Ahmadinejad of Iran comes out and says the U.S. is trying to drive a wedge between Iran and Saudi Arabia.  He says that if Iran and Saudi Arabia stand together then “our enemies will not have the courage to invade muslim lands”.  By Ahmadinejad making this statement tells me he is worried about this arrangement and I say “good, I am glad he is worried”.  Don’t buy all the media reports about the “arab” being united because they are not.  Also, the Iranians are Persians and not Arabs so this is another reason that may cause the Saudis and Iranians not to see eye to eye.

Obviously, the Saudis deny this report publicly but privately I believe the story to be true.  I think the countries in the Middle East know Ahmadinejad is a nut and they do not want Iran to have nuclear weapons and threaten the whole region.  I also believe the Saudis would welcome someone else doing the dirty work to take care of this problem and if it is the Israelis then so be it. I believe this to be a positive development to let Ahmadinejad know “all his neighbors” are not on his side and that as I have stated previously I believe the United States is pursuing a policy of “containment” on Iran as they will obtain nuclear capabilities but they need to be made aware the price will be high if they try to “flex” this new capability whenever they get it.

I had posted about Turkey changing its policies and siding with nations such as Syria, Iran and the terror group Hamas after a log relationship with Israel as one of their key allies.   It was reported that Turkish Prime Minister Edrogan said “Hamas was a resistance movement fighting for their land and not a terror organization”.  He indicated Hamas was elected which is true as I remember the Bush administration had pushed for Democratic elections in which the Palestinian people voted for Hamas and they won.  So okay, they won and would have been allowed to govern after Israel withdrew from Gaza but they began to fire rockets over the border so I still believe they are a terror organization and not a resistance movement.

I know Turkey has elected leaders who adhere to more Islamic policies but it is puzzling that in the last few years they have decided to side with Iran and Syria against Israel even though they are still part of NATO they continue to pursue this path.  I think another reason is because Turkey has wanted to join the European Union and has been rejected several times so maybe they have decided to say “screw it” we will change course and try a different direction.  Another reason they feel confident could be the diminishing power or influence of the United States.  Obviously, as other nations emerge like India, China, Brazil the lone superpower in the world has less influence on other countries and I believe this is beginning to happen.

There will continue to be a realignment of these nations, but I believe the are Arab countries of the Persia Gulf such as UAE, Oman, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia will continue to side with the U.S. and while they want to see a settlement of the Israeli-Palestinian they will not openly change sides to Iran or Syria.  This will be a constant chess match in this area for the forseeable future.

I had posted previously about a new alignment in the Middle East with Russia emerging as a new power broker and aligning themselves with the Islamic countries.  I just located several articles to prove my point. One states “Russia, Turkey becoming strategic partners-Medvedev (President of Russia) and “Medvedev looks to bring Syrian back into sphere of influence”. I have posted the links to the articles as well.

All nations look out for their own interest but as it was in the cold war when the Soviet Union sided with the Arab nations against Israel you now have the same situation going on again with Russia building alliances with Iran, Syria, and now Turkey.  I believe the end game is to deal with Israel once and for all in the minds of these countries. Look at the current U.S. position in regard to Jerusalem which as always been the jewish capital.  The U.S. is putting pressure on Israel to give the Palestinians East Jerusalem as their capital.   It is sad to say but until one side is utterly defeated all this drama will not end.  Just look at the example of North Korea, they were not totally defeated in the Korean war and look at the problems with that nation today.  If they had been defeated back in the 1950’s then maybe there would not be the problem of them developing ballistic missiles and sinking South Korean Naval Ships!!

I have made several posts about Israel’s raid on the so-called “humanitarian flotilla”.  As more light is shed about the activists on board we come to find out they are a Turkish charity group with possible ties to terror groups and this flotilla has the support of the Turkish Government.  To me this is a very troubling development that Turkey is becoming heavily involved in trying to draw attention to the Israeli-Palestinian issue in this way.  Since the last Turkish election the government has become more Islamic and appears to be supporting countries such as Iran, Syria, and the Hamas organization.

What makes it even more troubling is that Turkey is part of NATO and all countries in this organization should have a common goal, but appears Turkey has their own agenda in the case of recent events involving Israel and its attack on the flotilla. I have heard reports that Turkey may even send its own Naval ships to protect the next flotilla of ships to Gaza.  I think these countries do this order to get Israel to respond because they know this is what Israel will do and then these countries, UN  and others make hay out of this and condemn Israel.

I see the following scenario developing in the Middle East; Turkey will continue to drift away from the U.S. and Israel in regard to its polices and will become closer allies of Syria and Iran.  Turkey may do this to grow their influence and power like they had in the days of the Ottoman Empire. Also, Russia will back these nations with support and weapons as they do now and will continue to put pressure on Israel.  I believe some major event will ensue where the U.S. tells Israel we cannot support them and then these nations will build some kind of coalition against Israel, kind of like what the Bush’s did in Desert Storm and the current Iraq war.  This coalition will issue some kind of ultimatum that Israel will have to refuse and then launch some kind attack.

All this fighting and agitation has been going since Israel became a nation in 1948 and some of these nations and peoples around the world are thinking the only way to solve it is to remove Israel and I am afraid this is how some will try to accomplish it.
