I have listed a link to “jihad watch” by a British commentator about the mosque and some sound logic against the building of this mosque.  It does make you wonder why the mosque has to be built so close to ground zero and why call it the ” Cordoba House”?.  As we have learned Cordoba is a city in Southern Spain where the muslims built a mosque to symbolize their defeat of the Spaniards.   Also, the mosque is scheduled to be opened on September 11, 2011!!  Now do we really all believe all the above is a coincidence or is there really a plan to in place as outlined n the video?

The diversity and tolerance ground accuse us that are against this mosque as being “intolerant and islamaphobic”.  But remember these are the same people who don’t want us to keep score in our kids little league games because if there is a winner then the losing teams feelings will be hurt, or that 2+2=5 because the students that get it wrong may get their feelings hurt and have low self-esteem!!

So just remember, those of us against this mosque are not bigots and have Islamaphobia!  Do not let this media tell you otherwise because that is their job to do so.  We need to stand up as once voice and say “we do not have a problem with building a mosque but not at ground zero”  Oh yeah, and this Imam that wants to build the mosque says that if it is not built then muslims all over the world will be upset and could lead them to more violence!!   Well for one I am tired of hearing about the “arab street” being upset!! What about the “American street! And the part about more violence??  Is it any more violent than blowing yourself up to kill people, stoning women to death, and chopping off the heads of innocent people!!

Just some thoughts that came to mind.  I have listed the link below.

I have been following this story and was not sure if I would post about it but my thoughts have turned back to it and wanted to put another perspective on it.  In recent days leaders from all over the country have come out against this burning for reasons that are obvious which is; not in line with American values, inciting Islamic radicals, and placing our troops in harm’s way.  While I do not disagree with these issues I have not read or heard anyone talk about Christianity and what it is supposed to stand for based on the teachings of Jesus or even the Apostle Paul.

This church is a representative of Christ and I believe this pastor is giving Christianity a black eye by insisting on the burning  of the Quran.  In my reading of the Bible I find nowhere that would give any indication that Jesus would condone this type of behavior from His church or Christians and I don’t know how this pastor justifies what he is doing by being a follower of Christ.  While we are all sinners and not perfect by any stretch, I believe Jesus would be very disappointed in this church for wanting to do this and the Westboro Baptist Church that protests at the funeral of American soldiers.

I believe this pastor is misguided and should restrict his business to ministering to his community and Church.  I am reminded of a bible verse that may apply and I have quoted below:

22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’

I am not his pastors judge or jury nor do I want to be.  I just think he should not burn the Quran based on what his faith should be about and that he is a representative of Christ and His Church.

In the ongoing saga of the mosque being built at ground zero we find out Imam Rauf is on a mideast tour to promote religious tolerance that will cost $16,000 and will include per diem and honorarium and all this is being paid for by the State Department which gets their money from the taxpayers.  The article also mentions this Imam made trips like this during the Bush administration.  So the question I have is why doesn’t the State Department pay for this Imam to meet with the 9/11 families to promote respect and honor for them and to the rest of this nation for the pain he is causing by wanting to build this mosque?

Secondly, here we have the US government paying for this Imam to take these trips to the middle east and sometimes makes me wonder of all this turmoil about this mosque and other issues like this are a smoke screen to hide the real problems in this nation!!  Again, I realize this Imam has the right to build this mosque but the decent thing to do is to build it somewhere else.  But, it seems like our government speaks out of the both sides of its mouth and we as the citizens are left to wonder what really is the truth.  The media play this up and the population gets all in a frenzy and in the meantime we ignore the serious issues of this nation; like it being bankrupt!!

In conclusion I would say that if this Imam wants to promote religious tolerance in the middle east then let those countries pay for it!  Why should our tax dollars be spent to send this Imam to the middle east when he is sticking it in the eye of this nation by wanting to build this mosque at ground zero. I have two follow-up observations to my last post on this subject.  A few days ago one of the founders of Hamas said the mosque should be built in the location selected near ground zero.  Hmmm… I say to him he why don’t we send an organization to Lebanon, Syria or wherever this leader of Hamas is located and start building churches or synagogues.  Better yet, how about building a huge multi story church next to the Dome of The Rock in Jerusalem and see how Hamas and these other muslim groups feel about that!! I find it very hypocritical and odd why the mosque has to be built near ground zero!! To me it doesn’t make sense and there appears to be another motive.

Secondly, it has been reported that Senator Harry Reid the majority leader in the Senate has come out against the building of the mosque. Reid is apparently in a tough senate race and has decided to oppose the mosque for political reasons.  Rest assured Reid would thumb his nose at the citizens of Nevada and the rest of this nation concerning the mosque if he was not in the fight for his political life!!  While the right do build the mosque is undeniable, do the right thing out of consideration for the 9/11 families and this nation, build it somewhere else. Why put the families and nation through this when there is no need to do so.

If you have been following the news you understand the title of my post, if not then let me fill you in.  There is a plan underway to build a mosque which will be a few blocks away from Ground Zero called the “Cordoba House” which will be kind of like a community center for muslims.   In the last week or so a New York city commission approved the plans for the mosque to proceed. There has been an uproar from some 9/11 families and this has offended them as being disrespectful to them and their loved ones who died at the hands of Islamic terrorists.  Now the President chimes in and says he supports the mosque because of this nations freedom of religion that is part of the foundation of this nation.

I have several observations on this that I would like to share.  The President is correct that freedom of religion is a founding principle of this nation and the government should not interfere.  But why put the mosque near ground zero?   Why not be sensitive to the 9/11 families and build this mosque somewhere else?  How many times in this nation does someone say something inappropriate by accident and a few dozen people raise a ruckus and practically demand this persons head?  We are told we need to be more sensitive and understanding.  So I say why not in the case of this mosque?  Why aren’t these same principles applied to these muslims that want to build this mosque?

Why since 9/11 have the American people been pushed to accept Islam as peaceful and make accommodations? Why not do this for Buddhists, atheists or any other so-called religion? While I understand all muslims do not think like these terrorists, it just doesn’t add up why this mosque has to be built close to ground zero.  To me the only logical conclusion is it is being done on purpose to disrespect the 9/11 families and this nation.  Polls show that 65% of Americans oppose this and the President comes out in support of the mosque.  I hope when a Christian organization needs some kind of support the President speaks out for them like he has for the muslims and this mosque.  Why do we care about the President supporting this mosque? so we can show the muslim world we have changed and our trying to be more accommodating and understanding of the muslim world.  I wish the President would be more accommodating and understanding of the 9.5% of people who are out of work and the rest of us that are trying to keep our heads above water.

I believe this President is out of touch with the will of the American and after the mid-term election I believe the President will have a rude awakening and we will then see if he decides to change his policies and focus on the will of the people instead of trying to be politically correct!
